Originally established as a division of J.N. Taylor & Co. Pty Ltd (Taylor Marine) in Australia, SatComms quickly established itself as a leader in the provision of Land, Maritime and
Aeronautical satellite solutions to Australian and Global markets. The company is SatComms is headquartered in Queensland with a large technical operation in Henderson, Western Australia, supplementing offices around Australia and overseas.

Raised from the solid foundations of a company which has enjoyed uninterrupted trading in Australia since 1887, SatComms has today grown to become a market leader in satellite communications with specialist staff and significant infrastructure assets backing up a highly professional approach to finding its customers the right solution, no matter what the requirement. SatComms' expertise is further supplemented by owning and operating its own Network infrastructure, allowing the capability to seamlessly combine and deliver Inmarsat BGAN-based technologies with Ku & C-Band VSAT services, all via one Global Private Network.

To complement our superior service provision, we also offer customers access to the latest range of hardware and value-added applications available on the Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya networks.

SatComms has invested significantly in state-of-the-art infrastructure to assist clients to communicate from any point on the globe, to any point on the globe, at a level of performance and security to meet their applications' demands.

Teleport and Points of Presence (PoP)

SatComms owns and operates an Earth Station in Henderson, Western Australia. From this location, SatComms is able to connect to Global Telecommunications partners, delivering customers' data & voice traffic with the level of security and performance required. The SatComms Teleport hosts customers' equipment and links remote sites to fibre and PSTN networks. This site also delivers Engineering & Support, along with the management of all customer networks end-to-end within the Network Operations Centre.

The Sydney PoP operates within the Global Switch facility at Ultimo, and connects SatComms to the Inmarsat I-4 network. This enables the intelligent routing of IP Data traffic to be delivered to customer premises anywhere in the world without traversing the internet. Partners can also pick up their customers' traffic at this PoP and deliver the last mile connection under existing Service Level Agreements. This PoP is fully connected to SatComms' main site in Western Australia.

This infrastructure enables SatComms to offer a unique, single network entry/exit point for all communications, whether mobile L Band, or Fixed Ku & C Band solutions.

Support

SatComms holds a Carrier Licence with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and is also a signatory to the Australian Government Telecommunications Act (AGTA). In this capacity, SatComms is an experienced provider of world class satellite network access, support, equipment supply, as well as installation and provisioning services to the Australian Federal Government and State Government organisations.

SatComms Australia is currently the only Australian owned and operated Inmarsat PSA (Point of Service Activation) as well as being an Inmarsat ISP (Inmarsat Service Provider). SatComms local entity, operated via the Corporate Headquarters and Customer Service Centre located on the
Sunshine Coast in Queensland, ensures that all matters including activations, support and account enquiries are able to be dealt with swiftly and efficiently, minimising activation and support response times.
